Only a few days remain before a significant event in the life of every Cuban. The day when Revolution Square turns fiery red and appears on the front pages of all local newspapers and magazines. May Day or International Day of Solidarity of Workers of the World is rightfully considered one of the main holidays of the Cuban people. If in many countries the demonstration dedicated to this day has long become just a formality, then in Cuba it is still a real original holiday, once again confirming the support provided by the Cuban people to the social and economic policy of the state. This time it is about supporting the decision taken at the Sixth Congress of the Communist Party, as well as the constant demand for the government of the United States of America to end the extremely unjust trade and economic blockade of the island nation, which has been maintained for more than half a century.
To date, about a thousand guests representing 48 countries of the world have already confirmed their participation in this global event. According to the member of the National Secretariat of the Central Trade Union Organization of the working people of Cuba, Emel Garcia, calls will be called up for the liberation of members of the notorious Cuban five-heroes-patriots, which have been in American prisons for 12 years now. It is expected that the main call this year will be the fulfillment of the party task to increase the efficiency and productivity of labor activity in order to “express the spirit soaring over the island of Liberty and illuminates the path forward”. By tradition, students, students and employees of the education system will open a demonstration – all those for whom the protection of socialist conquests is one of the important stages on the path to progress.
