Cuba and Kazakhstan forge partnerships

The result of a friendly meeting between the Cuban and Kazakhstani delegations was the solemn presentation by the President of the Republican Boxing Federation, Timur Kulibayev, of memorable souvenirs to his dear guests from distant sunny Cuba. Kulibayev also noted that the arrival of truly legendary personalities in the sports world to Kazakhstan is a very important and significant event in the sports life of Kazakhstan. Recall that Timur Kulibayev hosted representatives of the Cuban delegation the day before the boxing match between Havana and Astana. The meeting was held in the building of the National Fund “Samruk-Kazyna”.In his speech, Kulibaev emphasized several times the importance of future fights and expressed the hope that in the future the cooperation of Kazakhstan and the Cuban Boxing Federation would be more active. According to Kulibayev, it is very important for Kazakhstan to maintain contact with the Cuban Boxing Federation, since for several decades boxing for Cubans has been something more than just a sport. He also stressed that the Kazakh side is very pleased with the interest of Cuba in partnership with Kazakhstan. According to Kulibayev, mutual cooperation between Cuba and Kazakhstan will lead to the fact that in the future the athletes of these two republican states will be able to exchange experience both at the level of adult athletes and at the level of youth and youth teams. The Cuban side delegated Teofilo Stevenson, Alcides Sagarrai, Felix Savon, Perez Leonardo to the meeting. One of the important moments was the achievement of an agreement, according to which in 2010 Kazakhstani boxers will pay a return visit to the Cuban capital. During the upcoming meeting, it is planned to hold not only sparring fights with the legendary Cuban masters, but also joint training camps.
