Education sector leaders said yesterday that the 2010-2011 school year was markedly different for most Cuban students from grades one through nine of primary and lower secondary education. According to Yamile Ramos, president of the José Martí Pioneer Organization, in the completed school year, students showed more responsibility for learning from the very beginning of it to the end. Ramos highly appreciated the results of the completed academic year, the confirmation of these words was the high marks received in the control and final exams. She went on to talk about how ninth grade graduates can continue their education at a senior high school. The President of the Pioneer Organization spoke in particular about the half-century anniversary of the children’s organization, as well as the results of the Fifth Congress of Pioneers, at which much attention was paid to such a significant event as the 50th anniversary of the victory over American imperialism in the Bay of Pigs, and in addition, the declaration of a socialist character revolution in Cuba.
According to the leader of the Cuban pioneers, these events have become an important incentive for the Cuban pioneers. They took an active part in the events dedicated to this anniversary. Recall that the pioneer movement in Cuba arose on April 4, 1961. Today, its ranks include about a million children and adolescents of primary and incomplete secondary schools, special, sports and art schools. The President of the Jose Marti Pioneer Organization spoke about the active participation of the Cuban Pioneers in organizing and holding the Fifth Congress of Pioneers, which was held on April 3-4, 2018.
